Yoga with the archetypal landscapes of our earth. Online.
It was Mary Reynolds Thompson's books that inspired me to create another yoga series as part of Yoga with the Earth. Among other things, she writes about four archetypal landscapes and says that the deserts, forests, mountains, seas and rivers of our earth are landscapes of the soul within us humans. In these landscapes, these outer landscapes merge with our inner landscapes. They are places where our self and the earth meet. These landscapes are our ancestors. Like us, they emerge from the earth. That is why they are deeply anchored in our collective unconscious.
As soul landscapes, they help us to experience the relationship between our inner being and outer nature and to express and shape this on our path of self-knowledge and inner growth on a constantly evolving earth.
When we practise with the soul landscape of the desert, the following questions are at the forefront: "What do I really need? What must, may and should change?" There are no generalised plans and signs in the forest soul landscape. Here we can discover what is hidden within us and our very own path. When seas and rivers flow freely, they can give our lives the direction that suits us. Sometimes this requires breaking dams. Let's climb (our) mountains and get closer and closer to our potential.
There is an introduction to the four archetypal soul landscapes. This describes the respective landscape, shows us the relationship between macrocosm = microcosm and their respective symbolism for our lives. A corresponding Hathayoga practice sensitises and deepens what we have heard and experienced in our bodies.
